Chinese Bump, Onions, Pig Titty, you name it, I've heard Bantu Knots bear all these names as I was growing up in St. Martin. My high school geography teacher was even surprised when I wore the style in her class and she asked me why I was wearing my "hair rollers" in public. That's my mini Bantu knot history for you. As much as I love this style, I'll honestly say that I am not giddy about sleeping on it (maybe I do it too tightly or it just feels like sleeping on pebbles). But why do I love this style? I love that it can take on so many shapes, leaving fun patterns of our scalps and can even be twisted chunky or thin, piled on high or flat. Children can wear it and even those who have locs.
